The San Antonio Public Library is celebrating National Library Sign-Up Month this September. All Bexar County residents can enjoy the benefits that come with a library card by signing up, renewing, or encouraging others to sign up.
Borrowing books and other library materials is only one of the numerous perks available to library cardholders. SAPL cardholders instantly gain access to over 2 million books, eBooks, vinyl records, streaming music, magazines, audiobooks, and more. SAPL cards also give library users access to programs and resources such as online homework help, career advancement assistance, and online databases.
To sign up for a SAPL card, visit any San Antonio Public Library location during regular service hours. Bring a photo ID and proof of current address, such as a driver’s license or utility bill in the applicant’s name. Children under 18 may be issued cards if accompanied by a parent or guardian with a photo ID and proof of current address.
Library-card signups are also available online. To begin using SAPL’s digital services, individuals may fill out the online registration form at mysapl.org/cardsignup.
Stop by any San Antonio Public Library location within 90 days with your photo ID and proof of current address to pick up your physical library card to start browsing.
“Your San Antonio Library Card offers endless adventures,” said a spokesperson in a Sept. 6 statement.
