This Monday, San Antonio celebrated the launch of the city’s newest co-working facility, Key Coworking, with delicious food, drinks and live music. Located just outside Olmos Park, the cozy co-working space offers a place for business owners to work, collaborate, and connect with fellow entrepreneurs. Architect Dario Bucheli, led by the vision of owner Karla Garza, breathed new life into the building, transforming the location, once obscured by excessive layers of vegetation, into a charmingly industrial open space.
Local entrepreneur and small business advocate, Matthew Espinoza, reflected on the ideal location, beautiful layout, and convenient use of private offices and community areas offered by Key Coworking at 1520 W Contour Drive, an area in which co-working space options are scarce. "I love the space. It’s awesome. I think it’s located in a great central area of San Antonio where there is not a lot of co-working options,” raves Espinoza.
Catering directly to business-to-business clientele, Karla Garza hopes to gain the attention of business owners seeking a warm, welcoming and supportive space, which evokes professionalism without the pretense of an overly formal, “corporate” environment. “It’s a professional environment that’s not supposed to feel stuffy or corporate. It’s supposed to be like San Antonio. It’s supposed to be welcoming,” describes Garza.
With its open floor plan and gorgeous outdoor garden workspace equipped with high speed internet, Key Coworking seeks to provide a space where members can find value through the support of their peers. The company is also planning several networking events such as the upcoming “Wine and Whine” hang out, a BYOB event where fellow business owners discuss shared entrepreneurial roadblocks and share ideas on how to overcome them over drinks.
Adding to its invaluable list of membership perks, members also get to attend in-depth educational workshops. From learning how to properly price services, to how to collect payments, Key Coworking is hoping to help accelerate members’ businesses in a collaborative and supportive environment. Start-up business owners and longtime entrepreneurs alike can expect more perks such as a mailing address, free black and white printing, Wi-Fi, as well as 20% off conference room hours.
